ACEs and The Brain


​Participants will be able to identify Adverse Childhood Experiences and their own ACE score, develop an understanding of how early trauma impacts brain development and may lead to cognitive impairment, and increase their knowledge of resiliency.

EMDR Techniques for Children

Participants will learn to incorporate EMDR with children and will increase knowledge of history taking, preparation, dissociation, attachment concerns, resistance, and EMDR protocols for children.
*Participants MUST be EMDR trained to attend.

Sexual Abuse Treatment Techniques

Participants will learn to define sexual abuse, understand statistics and risk factors, identify psychiatric and somatic manifestations of sexual abuse in children, and identify evidence-based treatment modalities. Participants will increase knowledge of enhancing assessments and documentation, developing safety plans and treatment plans, and incorporating specialized therapeutic exercises in sessions. Time is provided to review cases.

Assessing for Trauma


​Participants will learn how to acknowledge the “elephant in the room”, create a safe space, increase knowledge of evidence-based assessment tools, and learn to take a trauma history.




PACEs: Creating a Path from Trauma to Resilience​

Participants will increase knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences and their impact, learn to identify Positive Childhood Experiences, and increase awareness of ways to promote resiliency.

The Developing Brain Series

Participants will increase knowledge of brain development throughout the lifespan. This series reviews prenatal, early childhood, and preteen/teen brain development.

Trauma-Informed Approaches for Talking with Youth

Participants will increase knowledge of Adverse and Positive Childhood Experiences and how to utilize ACEs as a tool. Participants will learn de-escalation techniques and increase awareness of how to build resiliency in youth. 

Changing Your Stress to Strength

Participants will learn to identify stress, stress response levels and identify strategies to increase coping skills, self-care and self-regulation.






PACEs, Trauma and Toxic Stress

Participants will gain information on trauma, toxic stress, and the impact on the brain. Participants will increase knowledge on Adverse and Positive Childhood Experiences and increase awareness of ways to promote resiliency. Participants will participate in the Brain Architecture Game.

Trauma, Play and TF-CBT Techniques

Participants will increase knowledge of TF-CBT techniques and learn music, art, and play therapy techniques to incorporate with children of various developmental ages.

Running with Resistance

Participants will increase knowledge of the purpose of resistance and develop skills to work effectively with “treatment-resistant youth”. 

Children in Care and Mental Health Concerns

Participants will learn to identify the impact of trauma and stress upon children and review attachment and trauma concerns. Participants will increase knowledge of Positive Childhood Experiences and Positive Parenting skills.

Reducing Sexual Reactivity

Participants will learn to define sexual reactivity or problematic sexual behaviors, understand statistics and risk factors, identify psychiatric and somatic manifestations of trauma in children, identify evidence-based treatment modalities, review safety plans, and incorporate specialized therapeutic exercises in session.

Trauma and Play Therapy Techniques

Participants will develop an understanding of the impact of trauma on children and families, increase knowledge of Play Therapy techniques for traumatized children, and identify at least 1 intervention utilizing Play Therapy techniques for preschool, elementary, middle, and high school-aged children.
